What It Takes
It takes more than just a car and a driver to compete on the NEXTEL Cup circuit.
Behind the scenes there are countless numbers of people involved in making
race day a success.
There are the owners, who have a vision and desire to make
this team the very best it can be.
There are sponsors, who fund the teams and expect results.
There are fabricators and mechanics, each with their own dreams
of one day being in the driver's seat on Sunday.
There is the machine, tweaked for each race down to the most minute
detail in hopes that victory lane is it's destination.
There is the technology, which in case of disaster, the driver will walk
away with little more than a few cuts and bruises.
And, of course, there is the driver - tempting fate, laughing in the face of
fear and enduring grueling heat, exhaustion and the other drivers.
All of these people, working together as a team and to the common
goal of ending up in victory lane are what makes a NEXTEL Cup team
competitive on race day.
