Recently I used Orbitz to book a hotel room, total cost was $89.43 for a Hyatt hotel, not a bad deal, or so I thought. The hotel accidently billed me for a night, which they refunded immediately. The problem is that they only charged me $73.20, a difference of $16.23. For the 2 nights, it was over $30.00.When I pointed this out to Orbitz and asked for a refund of the price difference, they politely told me that it was beyond 24 hours since I booked the room, I didn't deserve a refund, and basically I was out of luck. But, they would give me a voucher for $15.00 off my next booking. Needless to say, I politely told them where to put their voucher.

I'm not saying don't use Orbitz, or any other finder system, but if you do, research the prices before you book the room. I won't be using Orbitz in the future, but that's my choice.

We booked our overnight December stay in Charlotte through Orbitz. The room was tolerable, but a one-day midweek stay in ANY La Quinta shouldn't cost that much, no matter where it's booked.

Needless to say, rates and accommodations at the South Point this past weekend were far more preferable. Oh yeah! :D

Bragging and gloating is allowed, only because of where you were staying. :D
